Kid From the East-Elliott Lawrence

Wait don’t shoot

What have I done

I’m telling the truth I don’t have a gun

Just headed for my cousins house for some fun

My hoodie is on because of the rain

Not to cover my eyes or hide my pain

But from one look you think I’m up to trouble

No wonder my parents kept me in a bubble

Cause in this world skin color does matter

And because of that my blood you’ll splatter

Just want to live life with us and cops in peace

Hard growing up as a kid in the east.
